The Sockeyes 2011-2012 regular season ends with a tough 7-5 loss to the Grandview Steelers. The loss comes a secondary thought though, after the death of long time Richmond Sockeyes member Dennis Minns. Dennis has been with the Sockeyes for so long and has made impacts on thousands of peoples lives. He will forever be missed, but will forever be remembered as a Sockeye through and through.
Despite this Sockeyes loss, Minns team finished as the number one team in practically every single statistical category in the league. Most points (74), most wins(37), 8 more than any other team, most goals(231), Least goals against(69), best power play, best penalty kill, most shots for, and least amount of shots against.
